Decision-makers should consider the potential expensive fallout from unresolved issues. As Herd explains, one must convey to leadership, “If we’re wrong to pay for this service, we only lose a few thousand dollars; however, if you’re wrong about not needing a hotline, we might have just sidestepped a costly crisis altogether.”
