At just 34, Therese Ho is reshaping the events industry in Trinidad by overcoming challenges and empowering other women to succeed.
Therese Ho, CEO of Party Projects Management Ltd, is making significant strides in Trinidad's male-dominated events industry at just 34 years old. Her journey began with humble roots managing small parties, escalating to her present prominence in larger events. Therese's resilience during challenging times, including the pandemic, and her unwavering commitment to her family and career exemplify her leadership qualities.
After experiencing a tough wake-up call with her children, Therese made a bold decision to leave her stable position and start her own business, which has grown to encompass both personal and corporate events. She cites critical industry relationships and responsiveness as key factors in her success, having earned respect from prominent companies like Digicel and Spirit Mas.
Her investment in modern equipment, combined with her knack for logistics, has helped her thrive and allows her to meet evolving market demands. "The most important part (of this business) is relationships. I can call someone at 2 a.m. for a client, and they will answer,” she said, highlighting her network's importance.
Therese's methods extend beyond her business success. She actively mentors young women entering the industry, aiming to foster diversity in a sector traditionally dominated by men. She aims to expand her operations further by developing an event equipment rental division.
Balancing a career while being present for her daughters remains her ultimate motivation. "I’m doing this for them—for their future, for their university education. It’s all for them,” she shares, illustrating how personal drives can shape professional journeys. Ho’s experience emphasizes that with determination and strategic planning, women can effectively contribute to all sectors, including event management.
